Besides some basic recipes, where can I find some information about different skills you need to know in order to prepare good meals?
So far I can make pancakes, toast, chocolate cake, pasta (I don't know what to put with it!), rice, boilled vegetables, different ways of cooking of eggs and porridge perfectly.
Help? I'm 17 and this is something I really need to know!
Some other things that would help would be healthy snack idea's and affordable meals for flatters. What can I find some simple recipes and instructions for someone who doesn't have someone to guide them?

You are off to a pretty great start with what you already know. As far as pasta goes, I make a lot of it...I learned that all you really need is to toss in a bit of olive oil, saute up some chopped garlic and onion, and then toss is the chopped veggies of choice. Add a little bit of crushed red pepper flakes, along with some fresh basil and cook for about 10-15 minutes. Throw it over some cooked pasta, sprinkle on some fresh parmesan and serve! It's delicious, and doesn't have to be fancy sauce to wow people! What can I find some simple recipes and instructions for someone who doesn't have someone to guide them?
Read ';The Joy of Cooking!'; It's a little intimidating to some younger cooks, but it's the end-all reference for most young home-chefs in this country. It has detailed instructions about techniques, cooking times, and methods. If you're serious about learning how to cook (and don't want to go to culinary school) ';The Joy of Cooking'; is the book for you.
