Hey what is the best way to make bread any ideas? Simple recipes people?
something that does not heat up the houseHey what is the best way to make bread any ideas? Simple recipes people?
What a hamburger bun should be. Substantial enough to handle a big burger with lots of toppings and yet have an excellent flavor all of its own. (And yes, it really does call for 1 cup of oil)
6 cups flour
1 tablespoon salt
1/4 cup sugar
2 cups water (warm)
1 tablespoon yeast
2 eggs, well beaten
1 cup oil
Dissolve yeast in water with a pinch of sugar.
Mix in with other ingredients.
Knead for 10 minutes on a floured surface.
Let rise until doubled in bulk (about 45 minutes).
Punch down and let rise again.
Punch down and form into bun shapes (hamburger or hot dog).
Make them on the small side as they do raise more when you bake them.
Let rise until double.
Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes.
Let cool until just warm to the touch; place in a sealed bag to soften crust.
Makes 16-20 hamburger rolls.
NOTE: I usually cut this in half.
Double wrap and freeze any remaining ones.
Easy Good Homemade Hot Dog Buns Recipe
WAY better than the mushy store-bought ones!!! Had that frozen bread dough in the freezer and thought...why not? Ha! They came out GREAT!! 1 loaf made 6 large buns, too!!! DH LOVED these! Guess I'm going to be making them ';homemade'; from now on! LOL! This ';recipe'; is more for the directions...not much to it, but GOOOOOD!
1 loaf frozen bread dough, I used a cheap brand but you could use Rhodes
3 tablespoons melted butter, more if needed
poppy seeds (optional)
The night before, tightly wrap 1 frozen loaf bread dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
Next morning, unwrap and cut loaf lengthwise down center.
Cut each long piece into 3 equal sections making 6 equal pieces total.
Pinch cut edges together so buns will eventually come out smooth, and roll into small ropes. *They should be about the size of a cooked hotdog.
Place on greased cookie sheet.
Brush with half the melted butter.
Cover lightly with plastic wrap, sealing the edges of the plastic wrap to the cookie sheet so that no air gets inside.
Let rise in warm place til doubled. (Mine took about 2 1/2 hours.).
Lightly brush each with rest of melted butter and sprinkle with poppy seeds if desired.
Bake in 350潞 oven for about 20 minutes til golden brown. You may want to turn your cookie sheet around half-way through baking for even browning of your buns.
Cool on wire rack for about 5-10 minutes.
Cut open with SHARP serrated knife.

This dough is sticky; so inorder to handle the dough, flour palms of hand

I agree about buying the frozen bread/rolls and baking those up. They are excellent.
Consider making biscuits, they don't bake as long or need time to rise.
you're going to have to heat up the house. It's just the way of things, you have to bake the bread.
But, here's what I do. For a small batch- you'll want to do a small one since you'll have to knead by hand- I take a half cup of lukewarm water and dissolve in 1 pkg of active dry yeast. Add a few squirts of honey or a teaspoon of sugar, a half teaspoon of salt and about 3 tbsp oil. Stir in bread flour, by hand, until you have a thick dough, turn out onto a floured surface and knead for 5- 10 minutes until it's very smooth and pliable and not sticky (add flour as needed) Then, allow to rest and double in size, covered in an oiled bowl. Deflate the dough, and cut into evenly sized pieces. Tuck all the edges under tightly to form little balls, place on a sheet pan and allow to rise again, they should double in size (about). Bake at 375 until golden brown, rub the tops with butter and allow to cool for 10 or 15 minutes. ENJOY!

First, you need heat to raise the dough, unless you make it with baking powder and not yeast ( which is actually biscuits not bread). Try using frozen bread dough, it's become very convenient and dependable. Thaw the dough, roll out, spread with butter, sprinkle with cinnamon and brown sugar. Roll up like for pinwheel cookies. Cut about 1/2 - 3/4 inch thick. Lay cut side down into a greased 9X13 pan. Cover with a linen towel and let raise until doubled in size. Bake 350 deg. for 25-30 minutes.

I make a beef stew by using about 1# beef cubes, putting in either frozen or canned veggies that my family likes (like green beans, corn, peas) Then add a can of cream of mushroom soup and a onion soup packet to it. I usually add a few dashes of salt, pepper, and garlic powder to it. Now if you want it with pototoes add chunks of potatoes. I usually omit the potatoes though and when complete make a bag of egg noodles seperatly and put the stew over the egg noodles. It is really good. Cook on low for about 8 hours.
This is another good recipe i got from Campbell's kitchen.com

This one sounds simple, but seriously- I have had 3 people tell me it is the best pork roast they have ever had. There are only 4 ingredients: 1 Pork Roast, Garlic Powder, 1 can of beer, and 1 can of sauerkraut. I don't usually like beer or sauerkraut, and I love this dish!
Empty the can of beer into the crockpot along with the sauerkraut. Coat the roast COMPLETELY with garlic powder, generously. Set the roast in the crockpot and cook on low for 6-8 hours. when you take it out, the pork will be tender, falling apart, and have a sweet tang to it from the beer.
I cut up an onion and put half of it at the bottom of a crick pot. Next I lay the roast on top of it. Salt and pepper the roast good. I put quartered potatoes, carrots and the rest of the onion on top of the roast. Fill the crock pot with water and cover with a lid. Turn on high and let cook for 5-7 hours. I usually do this in the am and by the time we get home from work, its done.
The next day you can add egg noodles to the leftover beef stock. Once they are cooked thoroughly, add the left over roast for a meal lof beef and noodles.
Enjoy...

Here are two simple sausage recipes...one with breakfast sausage, one with Italian Sausage.
Breakfast Sausage Soup:
Brown some breakfast sausage in a pan...or use leftover breakfast sausage.
Put water in a medium size saucepan and add the sausage. Crumble the sausage into the water.
Add sliced carrots, and a package of ramen noodle soup (beef flavored) . Also add beef bullion untill you get the taste you want.
In a separate corningware dish, simmer broccoli and caulifower..cut up very small. Simmer about 20 minutes. (you need to do this separate..or it will change the flavor of the soup).
Drain the broccoli and caulilower, and add to the soup.
My husband loves this..even though he hates broccoli and cauliflower.
Super Easy too! (I accidentially invented this one).

Super Easy too! (I accidentially invented this one).
Italian Sausage Stew:
Here's a sausage stew recipe I make in the crockpot, which is quite yummy:
This crockpot sausage stew is made with Italian sausage, potatoes, garlic and onions, tomatoes, and seasonings.

1/2 cup chopped onion
1 can (15 ounces) stewed tomatoes
2 cups chicken broth
1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 medium green bell peppers, seeded, chopped
PREPARATION:
Lightly grease or spray slow cooker; place potatoes in bottom of pot.
In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add sausage links and brown. Slice links into 1-inch pieces and transfer to slow cooker.
Add garlic and onion. In a separate bowl, combine tomatoes, chicken broth, tomato paste, oregano, salt, and pepper; stir to blend. Pour mixture over the sausages in crockpot. Cover and cook on LOW setting 8 to 10 hours, until potatoes are tender. Add bell pepper about 1 hour before serving. (I add it at the beginning)
Serve in bowls with garlic bread. What are some simple recipes using sausage?

Is it safe to feed my dogs/cats a raw food diet, and does anyone have any simple recipes?
It is safe and healthy. I do have cat receipes

Yes, it is safe and if you do it right it is very healthy. All of my dogs are on a raw diet- as well as my cat :) Here are some links to get you started:

http://www.rawfeddogs.net/

And this is a great yahoo group. The people there can get you started and answer all of your questions.

Well dogs I am not sure, but if you were to give your cat raw food it would be the best thing you could ever do. Raw food is what cats naturally eat so there is no reason for you not to feed kitty raw food and keep it on a raw food diet. There are premium raw cat foods out there. The meat doesn't come full of bacteria so you know that what your kitty is eating is healthy. Take a look at this link
http://search.onlynaturalpet.com/search.鈥?/a>
Now, if you do not want to buy it online you could just prepare great recipes for them. I have never fed my cat raw foods so I woulnd't know; but you're on the right track with this idea.
Yes I do. I have one cat who only gets canned food on the weekends now (just because...)
So long as you take proper precautions it's the best diet for cats and probably dogs as well.
I don't use recipes because I follow the whole prey model.
HOW TO GET STARTED FEEDING RAW
This blog is not intended to serve as your one-stop-shop for raw feeding. But hopefully it'll help you focus on what you need to decide and give you ideas of where to look for more info. I personally chose to feed ground whole prey so I do not supplement (except for a bit of extra taurine, fish oil and probiotics). I still serve some canned food for variety and likely will always have some on hand. I am feeding just chicken at the moment, but will be adding turkey and rabbit, and perhaps other meats when they become available.
(This ground meat does nothing for their teeth, so I also give the girls 1'; or so pieces of raw chicken neck to chew on.)
So you've decided to feed raw. What's next?
It's actually pretty simple. You need to find a supplier. You need to decide on a method (ground, whole, etc.) You need to decide which meats to use. You need to know whether you need to supplement, and if you do, what supplements to use. And most importantly, you need to get your cat to eat it.
1. Finding a supplier.
A. Find a local supplier. If you're in the midwest, I recommend Taylor Pond Farms. I buy my meat from them and it couldn't be easier. They deliver every month and you can either pick it up at a dropoff point or have it delivered to your door. www.taylorpondfarms.com. They also have Yahoo groups for specific areas (http://groups.yahoo.com/search?query=tay鈥?/a> You can also join http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/rawme鈥?/a> http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/Carni鈥?/a> http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/Whole鈥?/a> and look through their list of links.
B. Buy online. One site used by many is www.hare-today.com. There are many other sites; the WholeCatHealth links above will help you find them.
C. Buy meat at the grocery store. Your choices will be limited but if all you're going to feed is chicken, that's fine. Just be sure that the meat is hormone and antibiotic free - or organic.
UPDATE: I found a local distributor for Hare-Today. Not exactly sure what that means, but it may come in handy someday. Lori A. Randall, N7431 Meadowlark Road, Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin, 53085, 920.467.3717, tessera@excel.net.
2. Choosing a method.
A. Whole prey. This may be either meat, bones and organs all ground together, or it may be chunks of meat and whole bones and organs. With this method you do not need to supplement. Your cat will be eating a properly balanced meal.
B. Just meat. Again, this can be either chunks of meat or it can be ground. If you do not include bones and organs, you will need to add supplements to ensure that the meals are complete and balanced.
To learn more about these methods, check out these Yahoo groups: (http://groups.yahoo.com/search?query=raw鈥?/a>
3. Supplements. If you've chosen to serve meat without organs/bones, you will need to add supplements. There are a few different ways to do this. You can purchase a ready-made supplement such as Instincts TC (http://www.felinefuture.com/) or Wysong's Call of the Wild (http://www.wysong.net/page/WOTTPWS/PROD/鈥?/a> Or you can put together your own mixture. There are tons of recipes out there. One example is here (http://www.catnutrition.org/foodmaking.p鈥?/a> One of the raw feeding groups is dedicated to one particular supplement: (http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/felin鈥?/a>
4. Meats. Most meats are appropriate but you may want to avoid pork. The most commonly used meat is chicken. My vet suggested feeding a variety, so my choices are chicken, turkey and rabbit. If it becomes available I'll also try venison. Lamb and duck were rejected. It'll be up to you and your cat what to feed.
5. Converting your cats. If you've got a kibble junky on your hands, it might be easier to first convert him or her to canned food, and then try the raw. This has been a tried and true method for many including myself. Once the cats are happily eating canned food, start slipping a bit of meat into it. Just a speck to start with. Gradually increase that amount. If the cat balks, back down a bit but keep at it.
When you're ready to try it alone, you may need bribes. Raw meat has little scent so it can be helpful to add something stinky your cat likes. Crush some kibble and sprinkle it over the top. Try fish or liver flakes, parmesan cheese, a drop of soy sauce, meaty baby food (with no added onion or garlic), whatever it takes.
Note that you do not have to start with canned. You may be able to toss down a hunk of chicken and your cat will devour it. You never know until you try.
If you join any or all of the above groups, you'll find many more tips as well.
Patience and perseverence is the key. I was surprised at how readily Poppy took to the chicken after being on canned food for a year, but Sophie who is not normally picky has been resisting. What she doesn't know is that she's getting a bit of chicken along with her Wellness. (NOTE: Mushier canned foods may do better to hide the meat than the denser varieties such as Instincts).
Last but not least - relax! If you're researching this you may become overwhelmed at the tons of info out there, and all the conflicting opinions about what is best. What you need to do is choose the method that will work for YOU and your cats. And while it is important that your cat eat a balanced diet, it is not the end of the world if you don't get it exactly right, or if you forget to add a supplement one day. As my vet said, do you eat a balanced diet every day?
Cats do best on a raw food diet, but it needs to be done safely. Raw food will can cause food poisoning, and you might not want to do raw food if you have small children who can get into it.
As for recipes, http://www.catinfo.org/makingcatfood.htm
the website above is from a vet, and has some very good information on homemade, raw cat food. It also lists some cat food brands that are good, but not as good as homemade.
Also, if you are unsure of raw food, and the additives needed to make it properly, I would suggest using a product called
InstinctsTC from Feline Future, all you do is provide the ground meat, and the rest of the ingredients are pre-mixed to make it nutritionally correct - http://www.felinefuture.com/
Absolutely! Raw diets are very good for pets, much better than processed commercial foods.
Here is what my family does:
1 package of meat (chicken, beef, or turkey, ground or cubed)
1-2 eggs (whole, shells and all)
1/4 cup chicken livers/gizzards/hearts (or beef liver/heart)
1/2 cup fish (salmon, sardines, tilapia, mackerel; raw or canned)
(These next ingredients are optional, some people prefer to do just meat, while others prefer to add some dairy/vegetable/fruit ingredients as well)
2 tbsp canned pumpkin
1 tbsp peas or carrots
1 tbsp apples or blueberries
4oz (1 single serving container) plain yogurt or cottage cheese
Supplements (also optional)
1 tbsp Bone meal powder
1 tsp calcium powder
1 tbsp fish oil
1 tbsp multivitamin powder for dogs
You can either chop it into chunks and blend it like a dry stew, or put everything through the food processor and make mush. Any of the ingredients can be lightly cooked if you prefer, but raw is always preferable as far as nutrition goes. The great thing is you can change the recipe however you'd like, add things, subtract things, etc. We change it up a little each time for variety. You can use ANY type of meat you can find, as long as it's fit for human consumption- lamb, veal, mutton, duck, pheasant, rabbit, venison, etc.
For cats, I would not use any vegetable or dairy, just the meat and eggs. (Cats have less tolerance for plant and dairy foods than dogs. Dogs don't really need it, but they can tolerate it, and some people believe they do get some nutrition from it.)
You can also put down raw chicken wings/thighs (bone included) or chopped raw beef, either as meals or treats, in addition to the mixed food. My little 7lb pup can devour a whole chicken wing- meat, skin, bones and all- in a matter of minutes, he loves it! Raw bones aren't dangerous for dogs or cats, provided they are large enough not to be swallowed whole, and small enough that the animal can in fact eat them and won't break any teeth trying (large soup bones, for example, are not good).
Mixed batches of food can be separated into meal-sized portions and frozen for easy storage. Just thaw and serve.
.......... i don't suggest it but i do know a good cat/dog food store bought dry food it's called Iams.phantom of the opera

In the same frying pan, add green onions, bouquet garni and rosemary, and cook for a few minutes. Add vinegar, cider and beer, and reduce by half. Strain and return to pan. Add the fresh cranberries, jelly and stock. Bring to a boil and reduce until smooth.
Make a small puddle with the sauce and top it with a filet, garnish with wild rice and wild mushrooms.
Bon appetit
What are some good and simple recipes incorporating beer? ?
I know a couple of good recipes:
One time I boiled italian sausage in 1 can of beer and 1 cup of water with onions! Yummy!
Also, bake chicken with a can of beer, rosemary, celery and onions.
Beer for fry.

Deep any veggie that you like and fry them gold brown.
They will be very tasty!!!
Beer bread, super easy 2 cups self rising flour, 1 beer, 1 cup sugar. Mix into a dough and bake in a greased bread pan at 400 for 15 min. Then bake for ten more minutes with tin foil over the top so it doesn't burn
Boil some hot dogs in it...they get really big... ';LUMS'; was an old restaurant known for doing this
I need simple recipes for a cooking group?
I work in a Psych unit and we have a cooking class once a week and I am running out of different things I can make, I have a blender, a hot skillet, a fridge and a microwave. (NO STOVE) all of the things I make have to be low in fat and offer a diabetic version, and they have to be quick my group time is a total of 45 so no more than 30 minutes to have it on a plate to serve. I appreciate any advice and they need to be GOOD =)I need simple recipes for a cooking group?

Tons of easy recipes - she has a show on TV - good show.
Any kind of shake that you can make in a blender that would be safe for diabetics - strawberry, banana, etc..I need simple recipes for a cooking group?
Without a doubt the best recipes I've found are on the following website:
www.epicurious.com
The site offers a fork ranking system... so you immediately know how good a recipe it is. And there are suggestions from others who have prepared it-- on shortcuts or how to improve the recipe. By the way, Epicurious offers recipes from it's popular cooking magazines: Gourmet %26amp; Bon Appetit.
fruit shakes and milk shakes
take some hamburger meat and mix some salsa and minced garlic ( the kind you buy in a jar) then cook that on a skillet. This gives a twist to a ordinary burger and tastes juicy just don't add too much salsa or the burger won't stay together.
Buy the book, ';The Four Ingredient Cookbooks,'; by Coffee and Cale. Published by Coffee and Cale, 1990, Kerrville, Texas. Every recipe requires no more than four ingredients. I use it all the time when my wife goes out for dinner with her girlfriends.
There is alot you can do with Jell-o.
You can make Chicken breast with Thai peanut sauce (organic peanut butter, soy sauce, vegetable oil and garlic/spices) That takes me about 30 min and I make it in a skillet... You have to expiriment with the sauce and try different things to make the peanut butter get to the right flavor and consistency for you.
Fruit Tatt
1. 400gm custard flour
1L full cream milk
- put a little cream(1.) into the tatt.
last u just put some fruit into tatt, must look full...
How about a Microwave Cheesecake, it takes about 15 mins to make. I would have to look for it my cook book, or ask my Mom. But it is YUMMY it taste like I spent hours banking over a hot stove!!!

Anyone have simple recipes to make family restaurant style hash browns?
you know, square shape hash browns, crispy outside and soft potato inside...ummm!Anyone have simple recipes to make family restaurant style hash browns?
u,, get a food shredder and start peeling potatoes. And shape them, next fry them in oil until brown and eat.or u could look on the internet for recipes cuz mines not that good=]Anyone have simple recipes to make family restaurant style hash browns?
The key to making great shredded hash browns is to put your potatoes into a pan that has hot oil and never cover them. Next thing to remember is that you can't be muckin around in the potatoes, leave em alone until it is time to turn them. If you are using frozen you'll know it's time because they are defrosted on the edges and only sort of frozen in the center, if they are the ones in the dairy section, you'll know because the edges are brown and look a little crunchy on the side. When you turn them put a pat of butter on top. Again, don't muck around with them, just let them sit, but turn the burner down. For seasoning use salt, pepper and a little seasoning salt. Maybe grill seasoning if you want some, I use cayenne pepper along with black pepperand I also add some chopped onion to the pan when I turn the hash browns over. You'll know that the hash browns are done when the butter on top is melted and the edge is browned. Good luck.
Use to be a restaurant cook when I was 18.
That is because they are;
boiled / blanched first, then cool, peal,
shred, little all spice %26amp; a touch of salt put into then,
then are ready to cook them.
Lots of Veg. oil hot pan

Bonfire toffee
60g Margarine
180g White Sugar
155g Golden Syrup
70g Black Treacle
20mls Vinegar
Put the margarine and the white sugar in a saucepan and heat gently, stirring all of the time. When all of the margarine has melted, add the golden syrup and black treacle. Continue to stir until the sugar has dissolved. Boil slowly, over a low heat, stirring occasionally.
You need to boil off enough water for the mixture to solidify when cooled to room temperature but you also need to keep the temperature of the mixture low enough during cooking to prevent burning. The test involves getting a sample of mixture on a teaspoon and dropping it into cold water - either in a cup or a saucer.
When the test yields a soft but not liquid result, add the vinegar carefully. The water and most of the acetic acid in the vinegar will boil off but some will stay in the toffee and modify the flavour - most importantly, the malt will stay in the final toffee.
Lightly grease a toffee tray with margarine.
Keep on boiling slowly and testing every few minutes (things speed up towards the end) until you get a stiff result - you will get a feel for how fast you can boil toffee without burning it. Carefully pour into a greased toffee tray and let cool. When cold, break up with a toffee hammer or the handle of a heavy knife or spoon.
Ingredients
397g can Carnation Condensed Milk
150ml (5fl oz) milk
450g (1lb) demerara sugar
115g (4oz) butter
Variations:
Add the following at the beating stage.
Rum and Raisin
Stir in 2tbsp of dark rum along with 115g (4oz) of chopped raisins.
Fruit and Nut
Stir in 85g (3oz) of mixed dried fruit and chopped nuts.
Chocolate
Stir in 175g (6oz) of melted plain chocolate
Method
Grease and base line an 18cm (7in) square tin with baking parchment.
Gently heat all the ingredients in a large, nonstick saucepan, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
Bring to the boil and simmer gently for 10-15 minutes, stirring continuously, until a temperature of 116潞C (240潞F) is reached on a sugar thermometer. Alternatively, test the fudge by dropping a little into a jug of cold water. If a soft ball is formed, the fudge is ready.
Remove from the heat. Beat until thick and grainy (about 10 minutes). Pour into the prepared tin and leave to cool. When cold, cut into squares.
Fudge can be stored for up to 1 month in an airtight container.
fudge
1 (7 ounce) jar marshmallow creme
1 1/2 cups white sugar
2/3 cup evaporated milk
1/4 cup butter
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups milk chocolate chips
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Line an 8x8 inch pan with aluminum foil. Set aside.
In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine marshmallow cream, sugar, evaporated milk, butter and salt. Bring to a full boil, and cook for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat and pour in semisweet chocolate chips and milk chocolate chips. Stir until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth. Stir in nuts and vanilla. Pour into prepared pan. Chill in refrigerator for 2 hours, or until firm.
I use the same fudge reciepe posted by someone else, with the marshmallow fluff.
I also make peppermint almond bark, that is really easy. Melt a pound of white chocolate in a double boiler or over very low heat. Add 8 candy canes that you've crushed (I double bag them in two zip lock bags and crush w/ meat mallet until they are 1/4'; or smaller). Spread out onto a cookie sheet or jelly roll pan you've covered with aluminum foil. You want it to really be no more than 1/4'; thick. You can also melt some semisweet chocolate chips in a small ziplock bag, cut off the tip and add swirls of it to the white choclate. When cool break it into small pieces.

Looking for simple recipes to prepare with little cooking knowledge. Please Help. Thanks!?
I just moved out from my parents home, and am offically living on my own. I am looking for simple recipes that I would be able to prepare in my apt. I love vegetables, and some types of meat, but do not really know how to prepare much besides the basics. I am looking for recipes that would not take to long, and don't require much expertise in preparing. Does anybody have any recipes or suggestions as to where I might be able to get some. Thanks!Looking for simple recipes to prepare with little cooking knowledge. Please Help. Thanks!?
I am listing the link to a site made with people just like you in mind. Not only does it have recipes for you, it has video to walk you through every step. Try it. I love it and I have been cooking for 35 + years.Looking for simple recipes to prepare with little cooking knowledge. Please Help. Thanks!?
Too easy.
Chicken and Dumplings
Boil chicken with skin, bones and all until easily comes off the bone in salted water. (Dark meat will be more flavorful than white.) I use a 5 or 6 quart Dutch oven. Use tongs and fork to remove skin, bone and ';yucky'; stuff and save the water. Return the meat to the water and add heaping tablespoon of chicken bouillion. Return to a low boil. Tear 2 to 3 cans of biscuits into quarters (each biscuit 4 pieces) and drop into boiling chicken. Add pepper to taste. Biscuits will swell up but then shrink after about 10 minutes. Yummy.
Stir fry with sliced chicken, beef, pork and vegetables (red, green peppers, onion, mushroom or anything you like). Cook the meat first set aside (keep warm) then put a bit of oil to stir fry the vegetables, when their almost done put the meat in, mix and add an oriental sauce (Ginger sauce, Hoi Sin Sauce etc.).
Chicken Caesar Salad. Cut, season and fry the chicken. Cut up the Romaine Lettuce (wash first), put some Caesar Salad Dressing enough for taste add the chicken and enjoy.
Season and Bbq steaks, pork chops (juices should run clear but a little pink is safe don't over cook them they'll be tough and tasteless), hamburgers (all you need to make them is lean ground beef and spices, form into patties and cook )add a baked potato (throw the potato in microwave to speed the cooking but poke it with a fork) and you got a meal.
There are tons of sites that have easy and simple recipes just google away and don't be afraid to try something different it may turn out great.

Hi, maybe you should join my recipes group (or just browse through it). It's dedicated to fast, easy dinners. See the link in my profile.
I also suggest going to the library or a bookstore and getting one of those 4 ingredients or less cookbooks. The recipes really are tasty, and also very simple, which makes it fun instead of stressful!
I LOVE the book dinner doctor, by anne byrn. My Mother in law gave it to me when i got married and I use it to no end. She uses canned, frozen, bagged, boxed, etc. and adds to them to make them really good and really fast, most under 20 minutes start to finish.
One of my favorite quick recipes from my mom is
frozen chicken
minute rice
canned/frozen peas
cream of chicken soup
milk
bread crumbs
you mix everything in a casserole dish and put the breadcrumbs on top and bake it at 350 for about 30-35 minutes. really yummy
I really enjoyed this recipe. It was so easy to make and I had leftovers to eat for lunch over the next few days (although you could always half the recipe).

Mash tofu until they reach the size of ground meat. In a saucepan, heat olive oil and sautee onions and garlic until golden. Add tofu and soy sauce. Stir. Add bell peppers, tomato sauce and seasonings. Simmer over low heat for 5 mins. Serve on freshly cooked spaghetti noodles.Top with cheese.

录 cup soy sauce
3 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons rice vinegar

Besides the old standby (chicken fingers/nuggets and mac %26amp; cheese) I've found that most kids like salmon and rice! Just take salmon fillets (no bones) and marinate ( I use brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and fresh ground pepper). Bake in foil at 350 degrees until flakes easily (about 15 min) and serve with rice. Otherwise I've found that one dish meals are more appealing to kids (spaghetti, lasagna, casseroles, etc).
Ive never known a kid that would eat this
Tater Tot Casserole
';Such an easy recipe, but so tasty! Moist inside and crispy on top! A complete meal in one pan.';
6 to 8 servings
INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
1/2 onion, chopped
4 cups frozen mixed vegetables
1 (19 ounce) can cream of chicken soup
1 (32 ounce) package frozen potato rounds
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Spray 9x13 glass baking dish with cooking spray.
Spread hamburger into bottom of pan, covering entire bottom, gently tamping beef down. Sprinkle with diced onions. Layer frozen veggies as next layer. Cover with the soup, straight from the can, carefully spreading with spatula to cover entirely.
Layer tater tots on top, covering entire top with tots. Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees) for 1 hour, or until hamburger is done. Check after 30 minutes; if tots are getting too brown, turn down to 350 degrees F (190 degrees C).
One of my kids is still a bit fussy. Especially of she's too hungry to wait if you know what I mean. So a quick t-time or lunch favourite (which they can help with) is fish cakes.
We just microwave a potato per person and take the skin off (so it's like mash or if you'd rather boil your spuds do that) Add a drop of milk, half a can of tuna per person mash all together and form into a big ball shape. Put some fresh breadcrumbs on a plate and squash the ball into a flatter shape and cover all over in the breadcrumbs.
Fry in little oil and butter until it's the colour your kids'll like and serve with whatever veg you can get them to eat. Or just baked beans. Takes 5-10 minutes from start to finish.
Or use Salmon if they like that. Add seasonings and herbs if your kids aren't scared of black or green specks like mine is!
Make them into fish shapes if you'd rather. Have fun
I have thousands of simple recipes for things that children of any age will definitely eat. The problem is not ';what they will eat'; but the ';games they will play.'; Many children (and parents) use food as a means of control. This is how you end up with children that are overweight or anorexic.
Healthy children with well balanced diets like all of the same exact things that grown ups do. In our house pate, Mexican, Thai, veggie platters and a huge variety of cheeses have always been popular.
Serve a wide variety of food - including lots of vegetables and fruit.
Serve ';dessert'; only on weekends and special occasions.
Put about 1/3 of what you think they ';should'; eat on their plates. Our eyes are often bigger than little one's stomachs.
NEVER use food as either a punishment or a reward!
Stay positive. Expect your kids to like what you serve.
#1 Rule: This is what is for dinner. You do not have to eat dinner. You may make yourself a peanut butter and jelly sandwich instead if you prefer not to eat dinner. But be aware that if you do not eat dinner you do not get dessert or snack later.
#2 Rule: Things you are ';sure'; they won't like are stated to be ';only for grownups.'; Works like a charm every time.

Cook some rice till al dente, drain the water then transfer to a shallow dish. Add a tin or two of tomato soup, plus extra milk/water if needed. Add some frozen peas and some chopped cooked sausages.
Cook until the rice has absorbed the liquid.
You can also omit the par boiling the rice part but it just ensures that the rice is cooked.
fruit salsa. it's simple it just takes a little bit of time.
You can use as much or as little as you like. and vary the fruit to your tastes... but i use
raspberries (frozen then thawed)
strawberries(same^^^)
fresh Kiwi about 4
green apples about 3
2 cans of crushed pinapple
and about 3tbsp of preserves.
I use the frozen fruit because it tends to retain more juice or water. anyway it helps make it more liquidy. you mix all that together to get a salsa like consistancy
then you take tortilla's cut them into wedges spray with cooking spray. sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, then coat again with spray...
bake about 10 mins.
and eat that with the salsa.... it sounds time consuming but really it takes about 30 mins total and I make lots and freeze it so i always have it on hand.
my kids love it, and they get a lot of fruit in their diet!
macdonalds lol
only joking but what u want to think about is what u know they love for example mackdonalds taking them there might be exspencive so u want to think along the lines of fast food for example make a burger with chips or if they like kfc then make them bbq chiken with chips and maybe peas
Celery with peanut butter and raisins=ants on a log
Shaped sandwiches
Mac and cheese try adding fun colors :)
grapes and banannas, apples and oranges make a salad and add marshmellows
Hotdogs, add little tooth picks and try to make little men out of them.
Kids will eat alot of things if you make it fun for them!
Hot dogs and beans- Get a can of Bushes bakes beans and cut the hot dogs up into small slices and put them in the beans cook slowly over a low heat.
Break up some ground beef or ground turkey cut up one small onion and half of a green pepper. two spoons of olive oil. Place olive in a skillet heat slowly then add your meat along with the other ingredients cook unilt the meat is brown. meanwhile boil some water in a sauce pan add a little salt to the water. When the water starts to boil add some elbow macaroni to the water. Cook for about 9 mins then drain the water off the macaroni, drain the liquids off the meat. Place meat and macaroni in a cassarole dish mix everything together along with your favorite spaghetti sauce. You can also put cheese on the top then bake for 30 mins
My kids always loved when I made them and egg in a Basket.
You take uncooked bread and use a biscuit cutter to cut out the center. Butter both sides of the bread and ';hole'; put them into a frypan on medium and crack your egg into the hole in the center, salt and pepper it and cook as usual, turning it over to brown on both sides. Fry/brown the ';holes'; too as this is their toast.
Here are some things I have figured out over the years.
~Kids love things they can eat with toothpicks. Cook and cut up some hot dogs, squirt some ketchup on plate and poke toothpicks in the dogs. Serve with cooked carrots with toothpicks in them (or raw).
~Grilled cheese cut into shapes with cookie cutters and offer ranch as a dip. I cut them into fingers.
~ham and cheese roll ups. Roll ham and cheese up in a tortilla and slice into little pinwheels. Again, poke with toothpicks and offer something to dip into.
~Cheese quesedillas, always a hit with little ones.
~pigs in blankets or corn dogs are often loved by little ones. You can let them help you do the pigs in blankets (wrap hot dog with a canned biscuit and bake)
mac and cheeze with hot dogs
make some chicken tenders with some fries and honey-mustard sauce.
i also make spaghetti carbonara for my nieces and nephews and it's always a hit.
boil some spaghetti as per package instructions
in a pan, fry some bacon that's sliced into bits and pieces (without oil as it will render some oil on its own) when bacon is almost done, add a little minced garlic(optional), then add some white onions, chopped small. cook until onions are tender and translucent. then season with salt and pepper. add some canned buttom mushrooms, and then, add cream. let the cream thicken a bit (by this time your pasta's about done). drain your pasta then add it to the mixture. let the mixture coat your spaghetti then turn off the heat. lastly, toss the whole spag mixture with 1 eggyolk (dont worry, the heat of the spag will cook the yolk) serve with parmesan cheese.
Here are a couple of my favorites:

QUICK %26amp; EASY CHICKEN POT PIE
Serves family of 4 serving each. This recipe is very hearty and filling. Usually one serving is enough for each person, but you can use 1 more can of biscuits and larger cans of veggies for more servings or leftovers. Preheat oven to canned biscuits recommendation.
1 stick melted butter
1/3 cup all purpose flour
1 tsp chopped onion flakes
1 can chicken broth
2/3 cup milk
1 large can chicken breast
1 single serving size can green peas
1 single serving size carrots
1 can peeled, sliced potatoes
salt and pepper to taste
1 can biscuits (homestyle best used)
9'; square baking dish
Over medium heat, brown flour and onion flakes in melted butter.
Stir in broth and milk.
Add chicken and vegetables, stirring until well blended.
Salt and pepper to taste.
Lightly grease baking dish. Press 陆 can of the biscuits out to be a little flatter, so they won't rise a lot and will be ';crust-like';. Place the pressed biscuits on bottom of dish. Pour chicken mixture over biscuits. Top with remaining biscuits.
Bake according to biscuit can directions.Children's Meals, does anyone have simple recipes for meals kids will definetly eat?
Chicken nuggets and chips.
Pizza.
Waffles.
Fish fingers.
';BEANO PIE';: cook ingredients of : bacon cut into small peices
Fried onions
Tin baked beans
Mash. Place them all ';layered'; in an open dish, mash on top - bake till brown %26amp; crisp, it's a winner ENJOY.!
';Such an easy recipe, but so tasty! Moist inside and crispy on top! A complete meal in one pan.';
#2 Rule: Things you are ';sure'; they won't like are stated to be ';only for grownups.'; Works like a charm every time.

make any food fun, most kids need to try 3 or 4 times before they will eat a new food
never let them hear you say yuck
I seem to be lucky that mine eat most things but one they do like is Sausage surprise.
You can let them help you do the pigs in blankets (wrap hot dog with a canned biscuit and bake)
mac and cheeze with hot dogs
make some chicken tenders with some fries and honey-mustard sauce.
i also make spaghetti carbonara for my nieces and nephews and it's always a hit.
boil some spaghetti as per package instructions
in a pan, fry some bacon that's sliced into bits and pieces (without oil as it will render some oil on its own) when bacon is almost done, add a little minced garlic(optional), then add some white onions, chopped small. cook until onions are tender and translucent. then season with salt and pepper. add some canned buttom mushrooms, and then, add cream. let the cream thicken a bit (by this time your pasta's about done). drain your pasta then add it to the mixture. let the mixture coat your spaghetti then turn off the heat. lastly, toss the whole spag mixture with 1 eggyolk (dont worry, the heat of the spag will cook the yolk) serve with parmesan cheese.

really good
1 yellow Cake mix
1 sm pkg lemon pudding mix (the cook kind)
4 eggs
3/4 c water
3/4 c oil
2c powdered sugar
1 small can frozen lemonade concentrate
mix cake mix, pudding water and oil with electric mixer. Add eggs one at a time, completely mixing in each egg. Put in greased/floured 9X13 cake pan. Bake at 350 for 45 min (till toothpick comes out clean)
While cake is baking, mix thawed lemonade and powdered sugar together to make a glaze.
Take cake out of oven when done and use a meat fork (or something to make 'holes' in the cake) and prick cake all over. Pour glaze on cake. Return to oven under broiler for 1 min or less. WATCH VERY CAREFULLY AND DO NOT LET BURN! I think this cake is best eaten warm. Watch out for the pucker power!

For the icing
1 Melt chocolate and butter in the microwave. Add condensed milk, corn syrup, vanilla and salt. Whisk until well blended. Set aside at room temperature, whisking frequently. It will thicken as it cools. When completely cool, cover with plastic wrap until ready to frost.

~*~ Place steaks in shallow dish. Drizzle with oil; rub oil all over steaks. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Let stand at room temperature 1 hour.
Heat heavy large skillet over medium-high heat. Add steaks to skillet; fry until cooked to desired doneness, about 5 minutes per side for medium-rare. Using tongs, transfer steaks to plates; tent loosely with foil to keep warm.

1/2 pound mushrooms, thickly sliced
4 garlic cloves, chopped

Melt butter in heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion and saut茅 until beginning to soften, about 3 minutes. Add mushrooms and garlic; saut茅 until mushrooms are just tender, about 4 minutes. Add broth, then brandy and minced rosemary to same large skillet and bring to boil, scraping up browned bits. Add mushroom mixture. Spoon sauce over steaks. Sprinkle with remaining 1/4 cup cheese. Garnish with rosemary sprigs.Does anybody have a simple recipes on how to cook rib-bye steak on the stove?
Very simple and easy. Preheat your skillet over high heat - a good, high temperature will get you a nice, great tasting sear on the outside of the steak. Sprinkle salt and pepper to your liking on both sides of the steak. Now coat it with minced garlic. Put about a tablespoon of olive oil in the skillet and heat it until it shimmers. Carefully place the steak in the skillet. Cook the steak for 4-7 minutes per side, to whatever temperature you prefer.
You might consider adding an herb to your seasonings to mix it up a bit - try basil, rosemary, or even cilantro. Or try them all together!Does anybody have a simple recipes on how to cook rib-bye steak on the stove?
If cook on the stove you must, I like to rub some olive oil on them along with my favorite seasoning, for me garlic salt and some pepper but you can use whatever. Sear in a flat pan on high, very quickly on both sides and then turn heat way down. We eat our medium rare.
rib eye is best, grill in oven with a touch of olive oil and spice of your choice for exactly 7 minutes each side, then take out and let stand for 10 minutes. eat and enjoy.
ps assumes steak is abt. 1 inch thick

I would use Season Salt, Garlic powder and a little spice Red Hot and use a skillet and cook as desired just like a grill for the most part
Season with salt and pepper, heat up a saute pan, add a tad of olive oil, and pan fry it to desired doneness.
*Rib Steaks with Spice Rub and Green Bean Salad
2 teaspoons ground mustard
2 teaspoons powdered garlic
2 teaspoons kosher salt
1 1/2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
4 rib steaks, at least 1 inch thick (2 to 3 pounds total)
Olive oil for the steaks
Green Bean Salad
In a small bowl, stir together ground mustard, powdered garlic, salt, and pepper. Coat both sides of steaks with a thin layer of spice mixture, rubbing mixture thoroughly into steaks. Let rest at room temperature for 1 hour. The rub should be almost completely absorbed by the meat, or it will burn when the steak is seared.
Heat the oven to 375掳F. Coat the bottom of a large, ovenproof frying pan with enough olive oil to prevent meat from sticking. Place over high heat until the pan is very hot but the oil is not yet smoking. Using a pair of long tongs, carefully place steaks in the hot pan and sear, turning only once, until a crust forms, about 3 minutes on the first side and 2 minutes on the second.
Place the frying pan in the oven to finish cooking, 8 to 10 minutes for rare, 10 to 12 minutes for medium rare. Chefs usually test for doneness by touch: The less resistance the steak offers, the rarer it is. Home cooks can insert an instant-read meat thermometer into the center of the steak; it should read 115掳F to 120掳F for rare, 125掳F to 130掳F for medium rare. You can also cut a small slit in the steak and peek inside, bearing in mind that the meat will continue to cook (and increase in temperature by about 5掳F) as it rests.
Transfer steaks to a serving platter or cutting board, and let them rest for about 10 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.

*rib-eye steaks with arugula oil
-For marinade
1 1/2 cups olive oil
2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh rosemary leaves
1 lemon, sliced thin
1 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
four 1-inch-thick rib-eye steaks (about 10 ounces each)
-For arugula oil
1 cup packed arugula leaves, washed and dried
2/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil
2 red bell peppers, quick roasted and peeled
2 yellow bell peppers, quick roasted and peeled
1 tablespoon olive oil
5 cups packed arugula leaves, washed and dried
Accompaniment: Ricotta Whipped Potatoes
PreparationTo quick roast and peel peppers:
-Broiler method:
Preheat broiler. Quarter peppers lengthwise, discarding stems, seeds, and ribs. Put peppers, skin side up, on a rack of a broiler pan and broil about 2 inches from heat until skins are blistered and charred, 8 to 12 minutes.
Transfer peppers to a bowl and let stand, covered, until cool enough to handle. Peel peppers. (Wear rubber gloves when handling chilies.)
-Gas stove method:
Lay peppers on their sides on racks of burners (preferably 1 to a burner) and turn flame on high. Char peppers, turning them with tongs, until skins are blackened, 6 to 8 minutes. (If peppers are small, as are chilies, spear through stem end with a long handled fork and rest on burner rack.)
Transfer peppers to a bowl and let stand, covered, until cool enough to handle. Peel peppers. Cut off tops and discard seeds and ribs. (Wear rubber gloves when handling chilies.)
-Make marinade:
In a shallow baking dish just large enough to hold steaks in one layer stir together oil, rosemary, lemon, and pepper.
Add steaks to marinade, turning to coat well. Marinate steaks, covered, and chilled, turning occasionally, 1 day.
-Make arugula oil:
In a blender or food processor blend arugula, oil, and salt and pepper to taste 30 seconds. Chill mixture, covered, 1 1/2 hours. Bring mixture to room temperature a pour through a fine sieve into a bowl. Arugula oil may be made 1 day ahead and chilled, covered.
Prepare grill.
Remove steaks from marinade, letting excess drip off, and grill on an oiled rack set 5 to 6 inches over glowing coals 4 to 5 minutes on each side for medium-rare. (Alternatively, steaks may be grilled in batches in a hot well seasoned ridged grill pan.) Transfer steaks to a cutting board and let stand 5 minutes.
Toss roasted peppers with olive oil and salt and pepper to taste and cut steaks into 1/4-inch-thick slices.
Divide arugula leaves among 4 plates and top with steak and roasted peppers. Drizzle each serving with arugula oil and salt and pepper to taste and serve with potatoes.
