I want recipes that have some type of meat and are nutritious yet someone like a child or adult who is not into healthy food will still like.I need 4 to 5 simple recipes that are nutritious and the ingredients will cost under $30 for everything.?
ok, here goes. living and cooking on a budget.
I live on a budget and it differs, but the one thing i found was consistant was to say 10 = 2.50 per day for 4 days. and other was to say I can use half of budget as the main ingrediant that can be used in all meals.
so this is the idea.
30 dollars for 5 meals. = 5 per meal with 5 left for extra stuff.
expl:
2.50 of chicken thigh. ( take home no skin and no bone so is only meat.)
2.50 pork chops (breakfast thin) or ham.
2.50 hamburger (lean)
2.50 ground chicken or turkey.
2.50 thin steak slices.
You can ask the butcher to special package for you by price if you don't have a regular butcher shop.
then
99 cent bag of potatoes.
2 loafs of brown bread.
1 large bag (3.50) frozen mixed veggies
1 package velveeta.
1 butter or margerine.
4 packages of non sugar needed dry juice kool aid drinks.
1 head lettuce, 3 small tomatoes.
you get the idea, then make hammburgers, or patties and fresh veggies, fried potatoes. ect.
here is a sample recipe that I use.
1) 2 green large peppers, (50 cents)2 chicken legs, (1.00)2 slices of mazzerella cheese.( 1.00 small pack grated) 1 can of tomato sauce. (50 cents)
clean out peppers and lay chicken in it deboned and no skin. from 1 leg each pepper. top with cheese and cook in tomato sauce and water 3/4 way up pepper with a lid for steaming.
serve with fresh
whhite Rice on side (50) 1 package of flavored water) (45)
total aprox 5.00)
Other than that if you are like my daughter, on the go, working lots, no time to cook. it is healthy choice dinners in a box, in the microwave ect.
meal is 2.50 each. and you can get cheapies that are not very good but food for 1.00 each.

I just recently moved out of my parents house and have been buying my own groceries for the first time on a very limited budget. Pasta is always a good way to go, just look for good deals on sauce like buy one get one free or buy in bulk. Pancakes and eggs are both cheap great breakfast meals. Ramen noodles, mac%26amp;cheese and rice are all very cheap but get old quickly so the key is to find a good seasoning or to add or some type of meat. I usually shop at meijer and there is almost always some type of buy one get one free brats, chicken breasts, ground beef, ect just watch out for the deals and add meat to make things more enjoyable. A loaf of bread, butter, and cheese and you've got plenty of grilled cheese. Just keep an eye out for the deals and get seasonings/cheap meat to make crappy, cheap food taste decent.
bonless chicken
1 red-1 green pepper--(both for color)
1 onion
1/2 mushrooms(optional I don't like them)
1 bottle fat free or regular italian dresssing-both are good
cut veggies--start frying in some dressing---cut chicken---put in pan with veggies
cook some pasta
ENJOY!!
Stuffed Cabbage
All you need is a head of cabbage, rice, hamburger/pork, tomato sauce, and one egg. Very easy to make, cheap, and very nutritious!
Also, chicken harvest soup. Throw some veggies, any kind, in a crockpot and add diced boneless skinless chicken breast; add water and spices to taste; 4-8 hours later, serve! Very delic.
You can't really make many meals with only $30. It all really depends on how many people you're serving.
1. Chicken Salad - Buy some boneless and skinless chicken breasts. Grill it and cut into strips. Buy lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, dressing, and anything else you want to add to your salad.
2. Chicken Sandwich - Buy buns. Like I have said, depending on how many people you need to serve, you could use the same chicken from the salad for this one. Instead of cutting the chicken into strips, leave it whole. Slice tomatoes and add lettuce. Add dressing or ketchup and such.
3. Tacos - Buy some ground hamburger meat, taco shells, sour cream, and grated cheese. Cook the hamburger. Put the meat into the tacos and top with the lettuce and tomatoes from #1, as well as cheese and sour cream.
4. Hamburger Helper? - I'm not sure how healthy and nutritious this is, but it's good. You could use the hamburger meat from #3 for this one too. Just buy a couple boxes from the store and follow the directions.
I hope this helps!
